Mr. Legorreta co-founded Royalty Pharma in 1996, after founding and managing two ‘proof of principle’ investment vehicles that invested in Neupogen and ReoPro royalty interests. Prior to founding these funds, Mr. Legorreta spent ten years at Lazard Freres, providing cross-border merger and acquisition and corporate finance advisory services to U.S. and European corporations. Mr. Legorreta currently serves as a Director of Giuliani S.p.A and Hottinger American Investors Fund. He received a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.
Mr. Riggs co-founded Royalty Pharma in 1996 and assumed the role of Chairman in 2003. Mr. Riggs is also the managing member of Balfour Venture Partners, an investment advisor focused on mid-stage healthcare companies. From 1996 to 2000, he was President of Biomatrix, a New York stock exchange listed biopharmaceutical company. From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Riggs served as President and CEO of RF&P Corporation, an investment company owned by the State of Virginia Retirement system. Prior to that, Mr. Riggs spent ten years as a member of PaineWebber’s mergers and acquisitions department. Mr. Riggs graduated from Middlebury College and holds an M.B.A. degree from Columbia University.
Ms. Gray joined Royalty Pharma in January 2005 after a 14 year career in investment banking. From 2002 to 2004, Ms. Gray was a managing director and the senior analyst covering the healthcare sector for CIBC World Market's high yield group. Prior to joining CIBC World Markets, she worked in a similar capacity at Merrill Lynch. Ms. Gray joined Merrill Lynch in April 1999 after nine years at Chase Securities (a predecessor of JP Morgan), working in various capacities within the high yield and the structured finance groups. Ms. Gray received a B.A. with honors from Wesleyan University and holds an M.B.A. degree from Columbia University.
Mr. Kwit joined Royalty Pharma in 2001. Prior to joining Royalty Pharma, from 2000 to 2001, he served as general counsel for KPE, a digital and media entertainment company. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Kwit was an associate with Davis, Polk and Wardwell, a New York-based law firm, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and securities law. Mr. Kwit received a B.A. from Duke University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and holds a J.D degree from Columbia University, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1997.
Dr. Reddoch joined Royalty Pharma in July 2008 after a 12 years on Wall Street as a biotechnology analyst. Prior to joining Royalty Pharma, Dr. Reddoch was Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Equity Research at Friedman Billings Ramsey. He previously worked at Banc of America Securities and CIBC World Markets Corp. (now Oppenheimer & Co.). Dr. Reddoch holds a B.A. from Furman University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Yale University School of Medicine.
Mr. Herman joined Royalty Pharma in 1996. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Herman consulted for several financial concerns, including Apollo Advisors, Société Géneralé, and International Technology Investment Managers, the general partner of the “proof of principle” funds. From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Herman was an analyst in the fixed income division of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Herman received a B.A. with honors from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Chiaramonte joined Royalty Pharma in January 2008. Prior to joining Royalty Pharma, from 2006 to 2008, Dr. Chiaramonte worked as a biotechnology equity research associate at Jefferies & Company. From 2002 to 2006, she was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Chiaramonte received a B.A. in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from Providence College; an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Colorado; and a Ph.D in Chemistry (Biochemistry Program) from the University of Colorado.
Mr. von Perfall joined Royalty Pharma in 2009. Prior to joining Royalty Pharma, he co-founded and served as Chief Network Officer of XTF, an independent Exchange Traded Fund rating agency. From 1995-2003. Mr. von Perfall held management positions in a number of corporate venturing and strategic planning divisions of Bertelsmann AG. Mr. von Perfall attended the Hochschule St, Gallen in Switzerland and holds a BA in Politics from the University of San Francisco and an MBA degree from New York University.
